Sustainability and environmental protection

Dear guests,
we share responsibility for our environment together with you. Please help us to minimise pollution as much as possible.

Water: It is sometimes thought that here in Germany we have an unlimited supply of this important resource. The first problems in supplying the cities and falling ground water levels resulting in serious consequences have shown that it is important for us in North Germany to limit our water consumption too.

Waste water: Our waste water is purified via a dedicated waste water treatment system and then removed via the runoff ditches. This equipment is very sensitive to sanitary fluids, so please either do not use these at all or only use sanitary fluids which work without any bactericidal additives. Please also help to protect the environment by only using biodegradable detergents and cleaning materials.

Electricity: We produce environmentally friendly electricity by means of our photovoltaic system.

Heating: On the basis of a neutral CO 2 balance, since 2008 we have gradually been switching over to heating powered by solar energy and wood pellets. The rises in the costs of energy and problems in the supply of gas made it clear to us that we needed not only to introduce measures to save energy, but also to achieve greater independence from suppliers.

Waste separation: As the dumping of waste is no longer permitted in Germany, we ask you to help us in avoiding and sorting waste.

Our campsite will do everything possible to reduce environmental pollution and avoid cost increases in this area for you as our visitors.

Camping am Deich is certified by Ecocamping. Information on the work of Ecocamping is available at Reception or on the website: www.ecocamping.net
